Who We Are
and why we do it
We are the VanOutryve family. We have four generations living on 40 acres just west of Dallas, Oregon. Here at Sanctuary Produce Farm, we are dedicated to a sustainable future, one that respects the earth. Although farming is a way to make a living for all farmers, for us it is also a calling to protect this precious earth, topsoil, water, and life from microbes on up. We farm without tractors, without fossil fuels, and without chemicals, to limit the amount of toxic buildup in our bodies and our planet. We farm with local materials, like compost made from leaves from our town, and manure from local alpaca farms. We strive to create a system that is sustainable, subsisting over many generations to come. This system has a foundation of careful observation and intention that promotes a vibrant and healthy ecological community in our soil, our lives, and our local community. We want to bring resources and tools to communities in need of food security and self-sufficiency, helping to assist and educate those with limited resources in bettering their personal lives and diet as well as their local communities through intensive organic gardening.
Our name, Sanctuary, holds meaning in that we are deeply rooted in the sanctuary of our farm, and we want our farm space and the food we grow to be a sanctuary for you also, a safe haven for clean food, cannabis based medicine, and herbal remedies. We want to be a source you know and trust, and the support to help you make use of these medicines properly.
